The RAWE (Rural Agricultural Work Experience) Orientation Programme was organized by the RAWE Coordinator, Dr. A. Vennila Mary, on 01.10.2026 at 2:00 PM at the College Auditorium for 104 students of the 2023 batch. The programme was organized to orient the students about the objectives, activities, responsibilities, and field-level learning opportunities associated with the RAWE programme.The programme was presided over by the Principal, Dr. N. Tamilselvan, Ph.D., and the General Manager, Mr. S. Srinivasan. The Principal delivered the special address and motivated the students to actively participate in the RAWE programme. Mr. R. Umashankar, M.Sc. (Agri.), Assistant Director of Agriculture (ADA), Pernambut, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He highlighted the importance of practical exposure, interaction with farmers, and understanding agricultural extension activities at the field level. He also handed over the RAWE letters to the students.Dr. A. Vennila Mary, Ph.D., Assistant Professor (Agricultural Extension) and Course Teacher, coordinated the orientation programme and briefed the students on the RAWE schedule, field activities, discipline, documentation, farmer interaction, and the importance of gaining hands-on experience in rural agricultural development.The orientation programme helped the students understand their roles and responsibilities during RAWE and prepared them to actively engage with farmers, extension personnel, and rural communities. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Poovarasi, a student of the 2023 batch.
